Nicaragua Style
From July 18th- July 22nd I was in Managua, Nicaragua. Along with 16 other missionaries who were and still are being used by God. As soon as we got off the plane and on the bus(not a nice bus with ac, but a school bus) Patrick(the guy who runs Samaritans Int, which is where we stayed) tells us "we are going to the main hospital here in managua to pray for the sick and this hasnt been done in about 10 years. Talk about the favor of God huh? We get to the hospital and stir ourselves up and went into different rooms, where there was at least up to 6 sick people laying in beds. All with different things, there was no a/c, no screen on the windows so there was mosquitos and flies every where. The relatives were taking care of their own sick family members. Picture that, next time you get strep throat you might want to think twice before complaining that you have to go get some medicine. The first room we walked in to(me and 3 other girls), I asked if anyone wanted prayer because Jesus would heal them. Most of the people in the room said yes. It was such a difference, because here in the U.S there's sick people and you ask if you could pray and they say no( I guess they love their affliction). So, anyways we got to praying, Every person we prayed for got touched by God. They were crying, I was crying, the Holy Spirit is so good! I really think it was God's plan to send us to the hospital first. We were supposed to go to a cops house and pray for his sick kids but the plans changed and we went to the hospital first. what are the odds? The first thing Jesus wanted us to do was pray for the sick, kind of makes me giggle. I don't just mean sick like a cough sick, these people had serious stuff wrong with their bodies. Lung issues, heart issues, open wounds. My group and I went into the ER part of the hospital with out even knowing. Hey can't tell a group of Mission people they can go where ever they want because we take full advantage! It was so awesome that the first thing we did was pray for the sick there, it really broke the ice for the ret of the trip. If Jesus used us to healed at the hospital, for sure he would heal any where we went. Thats what my bible tells me by the way. I just want to encourage all the people that ever went on a missions trip or will go on one some day, to heal the sick, feed the poor, preach the Gospel. It ain't a real missions trip if you're staying at a 5 star hotel. I'm pretty sure Heidi Baker lives in a mud hut that the people in Africa made her. I'm also pretty sure every where Jesus went there was miracles, signs and wonders!
